COGENT AGF CLASSIC
WEDNESDAY 21ST MARCH 2018
Join us on Wednesday 21st March for the second Cogent AGF Classic – an exclusive one-day road cycling event for Cogent partners and friends.
National cycling safety advocates, The Amy Gillett Foundation (AGF), is seeking richer relationships with tech companies and tech leaders – partially as a means to fundraise, but also to collaborate on ways that tech will impact on, and can be used to improve road safety for cyclists.
To better understand what is happening on the road, the AGF is working with leading experts at Monash University to develop a “Metre Box” – a small device attached to a bicycle seat that will record the distance between it and every passing vehicle. With new legislation in many states, this device will prove vital for policing minimum passing distances.
Cogent’s objective for the day is to raise awareness of the work by the Amy Gillett Foundation, and provide information and an update on their Metre Box project.
This is a chance to share the road with other leaders from Melbourne’s tech industry and some of Australia’s cycling greats.
Riders will be capped at 45 broken into three groups of 15, completing either a 70km or 100km route that will leave from the RACV Club in Healesville, beginning and ending in the same spot. Following this will be time (and facilities) for showers and a gourmet buffet lunch with guest speakers.
The Cogent AGF Classic will accommodate all levels of riders with each group of 15 having its own ride leader and will be followed by a support vehicle. All you need to bring is your bike and cycling gear. Any specific requirements will be provided closer to the day.
All participating riders will be eligible to win one of several great prizes on the day. Random draw prizes include:
2 x GOODIE BAGS FROM BAUM (Valued at $85 each)
3 x ENTRIES TO WIGGLE AMY’S GRAN FONDO (Valued at $200 each)
ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION TO THE SUFFERFEST (Valued at $150)
